Aeroscopia Museum

Aeronautic museum

Architecture

A few meters from the airport, opposite the A380 site, a museum, place of memory, vocation support, houses an exceptional collection of devices. More than a curved shape, it is also an iconic image of the hangar: an ample, total volume, without walls or cover, but a unitary, dark envelope, of obvious simplicity.

At the straightness of the Airbus factory, Kardham Architecture sets up a subtle dialogue by responding with a curvaceous volume of a museographic space evoking an aircraft fuselage.

Undulating, coiled on the ground, Aeroscopia does not show any facade or roof. It is a compact, abstract form but also the focal point of an ever growing industrial tourism carried by the curiosity and the fascination that aviation brings to the public.

Secured to the ground and assembled like a giant meccano, dressed in a skin of finely incised black steel, this building is unexpected but in all respects controlled.
