Attractive working environment, contemporary way of working, modular office concept, information and involvement of employees, overall concept for the Cologne head office with the integration of decentralised units from the city.
The aim of the project was to create a modern and flexible office concept with an attractive working environment. The employees were to be informed and involved in the change process. As part of an overall concept for the location, the existing buildings were also to be considered and three locations in the city area integrated into the new headquarters.
At the start of the project in 2022 (Q2), the strategic framework and guidelines were developed as the basis for an overall process together with the management and executives and all employees were informed about the next project steps at an information event.
An online survey of all employees and subsequent user interviews were used to determine the requirements through a user-related needs analysis. A modern, transparent, modular and user-orientated office concept for the new building was developed, taking into account the results of the needs analysis.
The planning process began in October 2022 and planning workshops were held with employee representatives from all departments as the basis for the furniture planning. A modern and appealing design concept was developed in consultation with the Liftstar marketing team in line with the office concept. The results were implemented in a furnishing plan and the furniture was selected in a tendering process.
As part of the overall concept, a potential analysis of the existing building was carried out to develop solutions for decision-making and to align the project development with objectives and measures as well as to determine the costs.
The move into the new building took place at the end of September 2023.
