Soyouz Launching Site
The National Center of Space (CNES)
The Soyuz launcher site, a European project, was carried out in close collaboration with Russian teams and following an agreement between the two countries to develop the market for small and medium-sized satellites.
The project management being ensured by CNES itself, for reasons related to Secret Défense, the architects did not have to comment on the scientific process. The idea was to develop a territory and provide an autonomous base, between virgin forest and ocean, at a distance from all civilizations. The drawing of a master plan made it possible to optimize the flows by the judicious establishment of the reception and delivery areas of the complex. The design of the tertiary buildings reflects the image of a site with very high technological value. The collaboration continues with CNES by the current launching of the launch pad for the new Ariane 6 rocket at Kourou.
